Lionel Cabral
Bay Area Fix It was created by experienced professionals who understand the building industry, and who strive to provide a better way of doing business. Founder Lionel Cabral, started Bay Area Fix It with the mission of providing a way to sift through the difficult process of finding qualified handymen or remodeling contractors quickly and risk-free.
Cabral’s goal was two-fold. Not only did he want to make the process easier for customers, but he also wanted to be a resource for good, highly respected tradesmen to find work in their local communities. Because of Bay Area Fix It, prescreened, qualified handymen, plumbers, painting contractors, and general contractors, are doing what they do best in their local neighborhoods, helping Bay Area communities to thrive.
His experience and dedication to the building industry started at an early age. Working with his father, he grew up around the loyalty and hard work of the contractors who teamed with his father in the building of wooden yachts. Here he learned the skill of managing teams, estimating costs, and built a foundation for working directly with contractors.
Cabral then joined the US Navy (1999 – 2006). The camaraderie and discipline that he experienced while serving in the Navy are core values that he applies to the Bay Area Fix It process today.
While in the Navy, he purchased property on the East Coast but encountered many issues in hiring reputable contractors. The challenge became even more severe when he was deployed and unable to leave behind a dependable crew to remodel his property. He quickly realized that it was difficult to find trustworthy local contractors.
After gaining valuable experience by working in the finance industry as a Foreign Currency Trader, Securities Analyst-Pricing (Charles Schwab) and Financial Analyst (Wells Fargo Bank, San Francisco), Cabral decided to return to his calling by starting Bay Area Fix It. Today the company’s network is flourishing as Bay Area Fix It continues the pursuit of helping homeowners and business professionals find dedicated and reliable contractors.
